This German-inspired town is full of things to do, and one of the most popular is touring the thriving wine scene. The diverse soil types and favorable climate make Fredericksburg ideal for vineyards, and being the second largest AVA (American Viticultural Area) in the US, there’s no shortage of excellent wineries.

Becker Vineyards
Established in 1992 by Richard and Runny Becker, Becker Vineyards is one of the most popular vineyards in all of the Texas Hill Country, and for good reason. The picturesque estate spans 66 acres, features a 10,000-square-foot winery, and is located just 10 miles from downtown Fredericksburg.
The thriving vines grow 11 varieties of grapes and are accompanied by a 19th-century German stone barn reproduction, lavender fields, and scenic views that stretch to the horizon. Top that off with numerous tasting options that encompass the very best that the vineyard produces, and you’re in for an incredibly indulgent experience.

grape creek Vineyards
Grape Creek Vineyards is often referred to as "Tuscany in Texas" due to its picturesque setting and Italian-inspired architecture. Established in the mid-1980s, Grape Creek is one of the oldest and most experienced wineries in Fredericksburg. The Beautiful estate features terraced vineyards, a bell tower, and Tuscan-style buildings that herald the essence of old Italy.
Grape Creek produces a wide variety of wines, including their signature Viognier, Bellissimo, and Cabernet Trois. Each of these can be sampled during a tasting session, with options ranging from a beautiful Tuscan-styled tasting room to an all-encompassing tour of the property.
An on-site restaurant is also available for guests, with live music and events available throughout the year. If you’re looking for somewhere classy, charming, and with great wine, stop by Grape Creek.
AUGUSTA VIN WINERY
The newest entry on our list, Augusta Vin Winery was established in 2019 and aims to set a new standard for hospitality and ambiance. A stunning two-story, timber-framed tasting room overlooks the vineyards, with tastings that showcase the best of their 12 different grape varietals.
For an in-depth look at the Augusta winery and their signature wine-making process, consider their ‘Grand Tour’. This complete package takes you through the estate's vineyards, production facilities, and ends with a seated wine and food pairing on the mezzanine overlooking the tank room.
Those who want to experience even more of what Augusta has to offer should check out their
