Policies

When you visit us at Country Inn & Cottages, we do our best to make your Texas family vacation the best it can be. We have some policies that pertain to our cottages and motel individually, please read the information below to help prepare you for your time with us in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We are a pet friendly hotel.

Cottages

Cottages require a 2-night minimum stay on the weekends, holidays or special events.

Check-in instructions:

Check-ins for the cottages are handled at our motel office, located at 1644 W. US Hwy 290. Check-in time is 3pm or anytime thereafter. Upon arrival to the motel, you will be given driving instructions to the cottages along with your key and breakfast vouchers. Late check-ins are available to our guests with notification to the office. Checkout time is 11AM. Late checkouts are not available. Please return your key to the motel office, located at 1644 W. US Hwy 290.

I am more than 10 days away from check-in but need to change my date/suite reserved. Is there a fee? If you call us more than 10 days prior to arrival, asking to change suites or the dates of your stay, you will only be responsible for a $35.00 rebooking fee.

Children:

Ages 4 and under are free and accordingly will not receive breakfast vouchers. Children ages 5 years and older will be charged at the adult rate of $25.00 per person and will be provided with breakfast.

Cancellation policies:

Any cancellations made after time of booking, up through ten days prior to your scheduled arrival date, will only be assessed a $35.00 rebooking fee. If you cancel your reservation within 10 days of your scheduled arrival, you will be financially responsible for your complete confirmed reservation. Inclement weather is not an excuse to cancel your reservation (within 10 days of your scheduled arrival), unless there have been confirmed road closures into Fredericksburg.

Please note that groups adhere to a unique cancellation policy that will be explained at the time the reservation is made. Please contact us for details.

I am canceling my reservation due to a death in the family; am I still responsible? Please understand that almost all of our guests who cancel do so for legitimate, honest reasons such as a death in the family, illness of a child, loss of job. Nonetheless, we depend on our rentals, so we must uphold our policy evenly and across-the-board without judging whether one guest's reason for cancellation is more valid that another's.

Group Reservations Policy:

We are often asked if we offer discounts for groups who book all of one property. We do not offer such discounts, and in fact, we are sad to say we have had a lot of problems with groups in the past. More times than not, when groups have rented the entire Inn or Cottages we end up with broken and missing items. Groups almost always drink heavily and leave liquor bottles all over the property leaving our housekeeping team with double or triple the normal housekeeping load. It may seem that renting the entire building is "doing us a favor," but we almost never have a vacancy on a weekend and would have rented each room regardless. Accordingly, we expect groups to behave as individual guests do. We welcome respectful groups but are not looking to book these fine propeties to partiers. Please feel free to enjoy the full use of the facilities, enjoy the hot tubs, play cards in the common areas, etc. However, we ask that you treat these historic properties with the respect they deserve. If items are taken , furniture moved throughout the property, excessive trash left around the premises, etc. a minimum charge of $50.00 per room will be charged to each member of the group's credit card. If items are broken or otherwise destroyed, the charge will be more than $50.00. If you are planning on holding an "event" on the property such as a reunion or dinner, you are required to book ALL of the cottages or rooms, no exceptions. You will also be required to sign a contract to do so. Please note that even if you do not fill the entire property, you will be financially responsible for the rooms or cottages not used.

Bedwetting and Other Damage Fee:

If you bring children, or anyone, who wets the bed there, will be a $50.00 fee per bed which has been wet. Also if sheets are ruined by spilling wine, coffee, blood, etc. on them a $50.00 fee will be charged to cover a portion of the cost to replace each set of sheets ruined. This type of destructive behavior should not be passed on to our legions of well-behaved delightful guests. Thanks for your understanding. 

Our roads are bike friendly!

The Country Inn & Cottages is privately owned. We will not be held responsible for loss of personal property, damages to personal property or accidents or injury  that may occur on our property. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

Pet Policy

Pet fee is $15 per pet. Over 30# is per day, 29# and under are a one time fee. Unauthorized pets will be charged $100.00/day.

Please notify the office if you will be bringing your pet.

When you are not in your cottage, please be sure to have your pet crated. This allows housekeeping to enter your room. If your pet is not properly crated, your room will not be serviced. This also helps prevent damages caused by separation anxiety.

Please do not allow your pet on the bed or any of the furniture for any reason. If pet hair is found on the bedding, you would be assessed charges for professional cleaning or replacement.

Pet must be on a leash at all times when outdoors.

Always clean up after your pet. Bags are available at the front desk if needed. Be sure to take your pet in designated areas described by the desk clerk.

No pets allowed in the pool or spa areas.

Please note: If there are any complaints of excessive barking from your pet, you will be asked to find alternative accommodations for that pet. Unruly pets will not be tolerated.

Rates & Payment:

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, debit check cards, Money Orders and Cash. You will be required to hold your reservation with a valid credit card. Your card will not be charged until you arrive, however, an authorization will be processed prior to your arrival to assure a valid credit card was given. In case of a no-show or cancellation violation, this card will be charged for the amount of your full-confirmed reservation.

Rates quoted will be subject to applicable taxes.

Rates are subject to change without notice.

Smoking is limited to outside areas only. A $100.00 cleaning fee will be added to your bill if you violate this policy.

Children are always welcome at the Country Inn Cottages! Please be sure that a guardian (over the age of 18) properly watches them at all times. Children are not allowed in the pool or spa areas without the company of an adult.

If you leave an item in your cottage, please give us a call and we will gladly send the items to you via UPS or US Postal Service. You will be responsible for the amount charged plus a $10.00 handling fee. The Country Inn is not responsible for lost items.

Split bills are permitted, however, there is a 3% processing fee to do so.

If you use our towels to shine your shoes or clean the pipes on your Harley, you will be charged to replace them!

Please practice safe fire building techniques inside and outside the cottages. Should your cottage be equipped with a working fireplace, please assure that proper measurements are taken when building a fire. Do not overload the fireplace with to much wood as this can cause a structural fire. Also be sure that the fire is properly put out prior to leaving the property. For fires made outdoors, please be sure to do so in designated areas only. If there are high winds, or a burning ban, fire building will not be permitted. Please assure the fire has been properly put out prior to leaving. FIREWOOD IS NOT PROVIDED AT THE COTTAGES. We recommend fire starter logs that burn for over 3 hours. We sell these logs in our office and are available for $5.00 each.

Motel
